Meet the Artist

Carena is an artist and professional photographer based on Kaua’i. Her passion for creating Cyanotypes began in college at the University of Hawai'i at Manoa. This allowed her to experiment with darkroom techniques including many alternative photography methods and chemical processes. Carena is inspired by her island surroundings and ocean loving lifestyle. Her signature imagery showcases beloved island life by way of the first traditional form of photography; the Cyanotype process. In her free time you can find her freediving, spearfishing or taking photographs and dreaming up her next creative venture. Carena is constantly evolving and discovering a great joy creating and sharing her art around the world.
